Value Range: Updating the Packaging

After revisiting the packaging and editing the design to give the package a bit more colour and interest. I have begun applying the same visual approach to the other products.

Starting with potatoes I used four different ink paintings to create a repeated pattern. Turning and changing the angles of the paintings has created a looser, less regimented pattern. Continuing the orange stripes used on the other designs has helped to add continuity, the type is in the same structure and format so that the products work well in a range and the design is consistent.

I decided to change the bottom information layout ever so slightly so that instead of two white lines the bottom half with storing instructions would be a lighter tint of the Sainsbury's orange. This gets rid of the white bar making the design easier to look at, it also stops the information from jumping our of the page first.

I have done the same with the carrots and parsnips, already I think the bags look better. The Savour range logo has also been increased in size so that it is more clearly visible.

Revisiting the Chicken label I have added in orange to the bottom half, this adds in colour making the design more exciting. The chicken illustration has also been made bigger so that it takes up more space.

I have begun creating the label for the peas. I wanted to do frozen peas but have decided it will be easier to do a tin. Packaging it will be simpler, not to mention logistical problems when it comes to sticking a label onto a melting bag of peas for a photoshoot.
